The Blessing Blanket

The Blessing Blanket idea has been in the works for awhile now, but 2020 was the year to bring it to fruition. It was a challenging year for many people around the globe, with Covid-19 contributing to a dramatic change in most people’s lives from young to old and too often deliverying heart-wrenching losses. My two careers in this life have been in agriculture and nursing. I have felt blessed to work in both of these fields.

I feel blessed every morning when I step out my door with my border collies and set about the work of feeding the animals that call Little Brook Farm their home. We milk the goats, make sure the goats, sheep, horses, ponies, donkey and llamas have hay, throw some vegetable scraps and scratch feed to the chickens and collect the wonderful warm eggs they have left for us in return.

How can I share this with all of you? Well how about by having soft, warm, heirloom quality throw blankets made from the wool of these wonderful sweet sheep, then having these blankets “blessed” so that you can wrap yourself or your loved ones in a blessing. We all need comfort and kindness. This has never been more true than during these crazy times. I find it quiets my mind and body to sit wrapped in one of these blankets, breathe in and breathe out, and let some of the day just go by. We hope you will experience the same.
